Above and Below

Taken from the 212 Arts Center Fall Program:

September 4-October 25

A thematic challenge inspired by Kat Campau

Local fiber artists have been challenged by Running with Scissors art quilters to interpret the theme “above and below”.  Come see the great diversity of interpretation of a theme by 20 artists.

The opening reception was last night, September 7.  We had a great turnout by both Running with Scissors members and the community.  The show received wonderful comments, and many of the artists spoke a few words about their artwork on display.

Thank you Kat for all your hard work.

And to 212 Arts Center, thank you for the lovely evening…

This is my piece….Above the Garden Border

I made it from a blue wool blanket and other recycled wool pieces that I felted, along with wool felt. Hand appliqued then tied to connect the layers.

The 212 Fiber Artists also collaborated on an apartment building wall hanging…further expanding the above and theme.  My contribution is the dining room, this piece is 8.5 x 11 inches:

The local newspaper featured a video clip of the exhibit, here.

Hope you can visit 212 Arts during September or October….

  1. It was a great reception. Thanks for all your help in setting up and for your fabulous art. I loved chatting with your daughter and son in law. And I love this picture of you.
