Yesterday we started in Wyandotte and wandered over past Belle Isle on the Detroit River. Great day on the water, nice breeze…not a hint of the heat felt in the suburbs.
The part of the river that really caught my camera’s eye were the manufacturing plants near Wyandotte. Though they were all neighbors, each had their own personality based on purpose, building styles, age and level of decay:

And nature is ready and waiting to reclaim her space….
I saw the rustic, industrial shoreline with fresh eyes and found beauty in the underappreciated, felt the character of a hardworking environment , appreciated the immense effort required for construction, and ever so slightly comprehended the constant battle fending off decay requires.
But mostly, we just had fun!
