Giving Thanks

Thank you all for your bolstering comments and wisdom!   I am so appreciative of your comments  and emails always, but especially yesterday and today.  They all served to make me  realize I needed to look at the half full cup…not the half empty one.   Thank you.  I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

So here I am, in my favorite spot on the blue couch in the  living room with this much loved laptop.  Wait, I must pop the top button of my jeans…there mucho better.

Thanksgiving, man.  Not a good day to be my pants.  ~Kevin James

I’m thinking about what a lovely day it turned out to be….with family and friends.  Ended up with 8 at the dinner table, and really that was just right….no additional tables required.  I was busy playing with Colton and forgot to pop the turkey in the over, so dinner was a little late.

Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence. –Erma Bombeck

So here we are, with this year’s list of THANKFULNESS, a concise but bursting list with big important gratitude’s for me today:

Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.  ~Native American Saying

-I am thankful for this day, just the gift of having another day is something I always want to be aware of.

-For having loved ones to celebrate with.  Mostly Jeff, he is always here…side by side, that’s us.  I know how fortunate I am.

-All of my children are employed in their chosen profession!  And they have been especially blessed in finding just the right jobs.

-Once you or a loved one has had a serious illness, one is forever aware that your body can fall into dis-ease at any time.  I am thankful for the health of my loved ones and myself!

-I am so thankful for this comfortable home, this spot on the blue couch, my workhorse of a kitchen with plenty of food (leftovers) in the frig.  As much as I am disgruntled with its  idiosyncrasies,  I really do love this place that has served us so well all these years.

-I am blessed with many sweet, good and inspiring peoples in my life!   They keep me grounded, yet soaring and bring much joy.

Psalm 28:6-7

Warmest wishes,

Deb

  1. Happy to hear that your Thanksgiving turned out well.
Ours was shared with about 28 others, some we knew, some we met for the first time .
There was plenty of food, many varieties of wine, good conversation, lots of hugs. We are thankful, we are blessed.

  2. Love, love, LOVE your thankful post! All kisses on the cheek from a really, good God!!
Enjoy the day after just as much, on the blue comfy couch!
