I can’t help it, I’m inundating you here! Goldmine of thoughts on inspiration and habits and the process of accomplishing just about any undertaking:
Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.
What one does is what counts and not what one had the intention of doing.
You have to have an idea of what you are going to do, but it should be a vague idea.
I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else.
What does it mean for a painter to… actually imitate someone else? What’s wrong with that? On the contrary, it’s a good idea. You should constantly try to paint like someone else. But the thing is, you can’t! (substitute your activity for the word “paint”)
I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.
And one last gem from Pablo:
Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.
Have a good Sunday!
