Meet “10”

I found a very special prop to use for display….thank you Craigslist!

IMG_0466She is a vintage dress form, specifically a J. R. Bauman  “Collaps-A-Form” model 1957.

The “Collaps A Form” must refer the ability to raise and lower the stand with the lever on her wheeled base.

IMG_0467Size 10.  I don’t know if 1957 refers to her model year, but perhaps she’s even older than that.   I purchased her from the original owner’s son.  She was used at Himelhoch’s, Saks, and Yves St. Laurent stores dressmaking departments here in the Detroit area!

She came with a lovely blue dress, custom made just for her:

She’s the perfect 10!

Love the blue dress, does it fit anyone you know?
That would be a funny post!
My Mom always liked Himelhoch’s, on Michigan Ave, down by Jake’s.
