Potent Quotable, 5-8-11

Of all the rights of women, the greatest is to be a mother.
Lin Yutang, Chinese writer

Grown don’t mean nothing to a mother.  A child is a child.  They get bigger, older, but grown?  What’s that suppose to mean?  In my heart it don’t mean a thing.  ~Toni Morrison, Beloved, 1987

  1. I really like your choice of the second quote. It is so true: you are always a Mom and they are always the kid — even when we know better, we offer advice, unsolicited, and often unwanted. It’s all done out of LOVE.
