Finally, yesterday I spent a good portion of the day catching up on grouting.
My hands and fingernails are the proof. Discolored and sore.
See how I suffer for my art.
Where did the term suffering for your art come from anyways?
Seems Edvard Munch had something to say about the subject:
“For as long as I can remember I have suffered from a deep feeling of anxiety which I have tried to express in my art. Without anxiety and illness I should have been like a ship without a rudder.” -Edvard Munch
I much prefer my aching hands to his anxiety and illnesses. Thankfully I have no compulsion like Munch to concentrate on fear and anxiety.
But don’t you agree that in any “making” adventure….yes even these photo frames, there is a certain amount of anxiety. With these frames, mine was mostly…does this tile look good with these tiles? Such stress!
There is always something to learn.
