Sewing Sunday

Yesterday afternoon….was so relaxing and fun.  Steph and my mom came over for a newfangled version of the old fashioned quilting bee.  We transformed my dining room into a flurry of fabric, the whirring sounds of sewing machines, and the warmth of steam from the iron….not to mention good conversation and fun.

Mom was busy sketching for a while, then became matron of the iron and pressed a PILE of fabrics for me.

Steph is stitching away on a 4 layer faux chenille quilt….3 layers of flannel and one bottom layer of a gorgeous print……11-14-10 catchup from Deb's camera 057

And I am having such fun working away at simple baby quilts, using up my scraps…..

The stars were aligned that we could get together and stitch away….and hopefully its something we can do again real soon.
