Where I Stand Sunday

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.  -Anne Bradstreet (1612-1672)

3-15-09 002 Marlo and the instruments of torture, the treats await out of view, but not forgotten.

This is the first true “spring like” weekend here, and spring hasn’t even officially arrived yet!  Sunshine, warmth.  Bike riding weather.  Outdoor chores are welcome.  And then it was especially nice to be able to groom Marlo outdoors, and let the fur just catch in the wind and float away.  Well some of it anyway.  A pile went into the garden as a rabbit deterrent, and another bunch stuck to my clothes.  Every hair that I don’t have to sweep or vacuum up is a victory.  I tried the much advertised “Pedipaws” today.  It actually worked quite well, and is definitely less stressful for Marlo.  It does take longer than clipping though, and it probably works more quickly on smaller dogs with smaller nails.
