Take it Further Challenge

I completely forgot to post about my June Take it Further challenge piece.  Those who know me will know my excuse, I use it way too much….estrogen deprivation.   Here is the color scheme for June:

I love these colors…earthy.  At just about the same time, Kat sent me some inspiration images.  Here is the one that inspired this month’s embroidery:

And, lastly, my little study.  Nope, I haven’t tired of circles yet, and working with felt, too.  I used applique, needlefelting, machine and hand embroidery on wool felt.

This piece is different from the others because of its size, much smaller…about 4 x 6″.  Its also the first time I used a source for inspiration, in this series.   With the color scheme and Kat’s photo, it all just kinda happened easily….serendipity.

  1. Loved your interpretation of the tree stumps. I am always amazed when someone can take a photo and translate it into a fabric design that actually looks like the photo. It’s a skill I definitely need to practice. Bernadette
