December 22….
Posted: December 22, 2010 Filed under: Happy things 5 Comments »Hello friends. Things have been a little topsyturvy around here, so sorry for being MIA for so long.
Mom K will go into assisted living in the next day or so. Its a source of nervous anticipation for her. She is weak, and struggles for breath…I think she will be much more comfortable in her own room and I know we will be much more comfortable while we spend this Christmas with her there.
It will be a low key Christmas for us. Lots of family gathering close together, enjoying the time we have with Mom, Grandmom. Bittersweet. But I’m concentrating on the SWEET!
How’s that song go…????
…..I simply remember my favorites things, and then I don’t feel so bad!
Yes, THINGS…..this is the season for THINGS! Can’t really get away from it.
So, I thought I’d show you a couple of the things I purchased for myself (while shopping for others, presumably)….handmade, locally, of course!
This is a beaded wine bottle stopper….it is just a party, and was something that I really had to have. It will be used daily. Makes that glass of wine all the merrier.
And some warm woolly mittens for the cold, snowy MITTEN state. The bracelet of vintage buttons on the hand applique closed this sale for me. These are made out of a fiber that is near and dear to my heart…..recycled sweaters with a fleece lining.
Nothing like a little Retail Therapy to bring on a little cheer.
Wishing you time to enjoy the holidays your way….however that may be!

Loverly, loverly!!
Praying Joy and Peace for you all this Christmas.
Hang in there!! I knew things were dicey……keep your chin up ( you can then see where you are going!! )
Hugs and a happy Christmas, Gail
Yes, concentrate on the sweet. I’m pleased to see the cardinals on your banner at the top of the blog, I love those!
Those mittens are wonderful!!!!!
Deb and Jeff also,
Spent the day in Manistique with Ona and she told us the sad news. I was looking for Elaine’s obituary and came across your wonderful site. Just wanted to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
